Leading Distillery Experts at The Limerick Strand Hotel

Food and beverage is at the heart of the Limerick Strand Experience. This season we bring you a host of Irish & international distillery experts, willing to share their passion and expertise and most importantly a taste of their excellent produce.

Inspired by the history of Limericks bacon industry, the Pigtown Culture and Food Series is an exciting new programme of themed events throughout September and October 2017 in Limerick developed by the Limerick Food Group. The series will focus on Limerick’s unique heritage showcasing the great food available locally and building on the county’s deep rooted food heritage.
The creative brains at the Limerick Strand Hotel are delighted to present “French Wine Tasting Dinner”, a unique culinary experience, reflecting the passion of the people of Limerick. To celebrate Pigtown we are hosting two unique events  


"Nose to Tail" French Wine Tasting Dinner 

September 28th 2017 

Join us in the AA Rosette River Restaurant for an amazing 4 course French Wine Dinner featuring the very best of local seasonal produce. Dinner will be hosted by a representative from Maison Jaffelin a small boutique Burgundy wine house. Arrival is at 7:30pm Executive Chef Tom Flavin will showcase his talents and present an exceptional four course menu. To celebrate “Pigtown Food Series” the menu shall be “Pigtown Themed” and shall include dishes such as Nose to tail Terrine, Pressed Belly of Rigney’s Rare Breed Pork Smoked bacon, barley broth Seared Wild Boar Loin
Rare breed pork sausage and Black pudding to name a few. Each course paired with wine from Maison Jaffelin A perfect French wine pairing which will enhances the food offering
