The three secondary schools in Abbeyfeale amalgamated into one last Sepember - Colaiste Ide agus Iosef. We are hoping to reunite past pupils from Kelly's (Boys School), The Convent (Girls School) and The Vocational School ( known as The Tech - a mixed school) in Abbeyfeale next July 15-21 and showcase the new Colaiste as well as the vibrant town of Abbeyfeale with it's traditions of storytelling, music, song and dance.
Abbeyfeale is 35 mins. from Ballybunion with its world class golf links as well as an unspoiled blue flag beach, We have 13 bus services daily from Tralee and Killarney, Farranfore airport is half an hour away and Shannon with international flights just over an hour’s journey from Abbeyfeale.
We are a gateway to Killarney and West Kerry - famous all over the world for its beauty. The town itself boasts a horse riding school, a go karting track, St. Ita's Hall with billards and snooker and a Youth Cafe, a Sli na Slainte 6.8 km marked walk, GAA, Rugby, Soccer pitches all with their own clubhouses, a sport and leisure hall, a handball alley, not to mention a vibrant fishing club and a weekly Farmers’ Market.
We have a hotel, a hostel, several bed and breakfasts, restaurants, coffee and tea shops and a steak house in town. We have access to The Great Southern Trail – a bicycle and walking trail stretching from Rathkeale into Co.
